LISTEN
ONLINE OR DOWNLOAD FREE MUSIC
|
|
There
are 2 options: LISTEN ONLINE and DOWNLOAD.
LISTEN ONLINE starts to play the song only few seconds after your mouseclick (while downloading from Internet). Advantage: You don't have to wait until the song is completely downloaded. The problems: - Performance is depending on a good connection to the Internet. - Play can get interrupted because of web traffic. - Some players produce WRONG ERROR MESSAGES! (i.e. file not found). -With most players you can not save the file to disk. If there are any problems turn to the save method: DOWNLOAD: Here the song gets completely downloaded before the application starts to play. In both cases you need a Real Audio or mp3 player to play the file See help for more Listen online to

I.
real audio
- You dont need to have ISDN to download the ISDN Stereo Version. But with a 28.8 Modem the song will be interrupted every 20 seconds because Real Audio needs more time to download and buffer the information to continue playing. It is recommended to use the 28.8Mono file to prelisten and download the best quality file then to your disk. More help? Click on 'help' on the left. Do not worry when you have only a 14.4 modem. Use the download option. Your modem limit affects only what you can listen as 'streaming' audio (listen while loading). Once the file is downloaded completely to your disk, you can listen to any version. |

mp3 is a little more complicated.
http://www.onlovestar.com/noise/fjc/fjc128.mp3 It happens that you
get error messages like 'file not found'. Those messages are WRONG. Here
and on any other troubles select the 'download'
option!

file formats
READ THIS FIRST! When you click on 'Download...' above, your browser will download the file (for example 'fjcmono.ra') and write it into your c:\windows\temp directory/folder (the Microsoft Internet Explorer uses 'c\windows\temporary internet files'). Then your RealAudio Player should start and play the song. But if you want to keep the song, the following measure has to be taken: Click on the link with the right mouse button instead and select 'save link as' to save the file to disk first. Then start the file manually from your local disk. Otherwise (i.e. when you already have downloaded by clicking with your left mouse button) you have to copy the file (for example 'fjcmono.ra') from 'c:\windows\temp' (or 'c:\windows\temporary internet files') to a different directory of your choice before you exit Netscape/RealAudio. Otherwise it gets deleted again automatically. You can download any version unregarding your connection. Once the file is on your disk, your Real Audio player can play all formats. It is recommend to use the 28.8Mono file to prelisten and download the best available Sound Level D (=DualISDN) or at least Level C file to your disk. If this does not work or you cannot keep the file, please contact: here. It will be send to you by e-mail. For different file formats, better sound versions, or information on the individual artwork CD's please contact: here |

II. mp3 Click on the link below. Depending on the configuration of your browser you will either be asked where to save the file to or the browser begins download immediately. If you are not asked where to save the file to, it will be stored temporarily in the 'c:\windows\temp' or 'c:\windows\temporary internet files' directory. To keep the file you will have to copy the file (f.e. fjc128.mp3 or some computergenerated name like xyc6fg.mp3 -> look out for the file date) into another directory before closing browser or apllication! If not, it will get delet ed again automatically.
For different file formats, better sound versions, or information on the individual artwork CD's please contact: here |

(For Help in DEUTSCH or FRANCAIS see the page of former Single Of The Month: Revolution) How do RealAudio and MP3 work and what is the required equipment? Software
requirements for Real Audio: The software
you need to play the Real Audio file is the Real Audio Player or Real Media
Player. The required version is 3.0 or higher. The most recent version
is 5.0. This player is a recommended Plug In for your Netscape Browser
or Internet Browser and is used all over the world to compress audio files.
This is necessary because an uncompressed file (that features better quality
of cause) for a 4:15 stereo song is about 45 MB. The Real Audio file in
Mono only 0.5 MB. It would take you more than 3 hours to download the original
file (and only if no error occurs). A reduced RealAudio file depending
on the grade of the compression is sized only 260 KB to 2,4 MB. But it
has to be remarked that the size of the file determines the quality of
the sound. It reaches from about AM-quality to something near HIFI Stereo.
Software
requirements for MP3: The software you
need to play the mp3 files is a mp3-player. There are various. The most
common and the most recommended one is the WinAmp 1.92.
Hardware requirements for both: A basic sound card or audio card like Soundblaster16 is a sufficient device in combination with speakers, headphones or a cable to your HIFI Amplifier. If you can play any other sound files you will be able to play this one as well. |

Troubleshooting 1) weird data or only the text "http://www.onlovestar.com/..." is displayed by your browser? Check if RealAudio Player or (RealMedia Player) is installed at all. If yes, check your browsers (Netscape/Microsoft Internet Explorer) options/preferences: files with the extensions "*.ra", "*.ram", "*.rm" should be started/handeled by the RealAudio Player. The same for your mp3-Player (for example WinAmp) and the extension "*.mp3" 2) option 'Listen to...':
known Problem for Real Audio Player Version 3.0: Error 14 says something
like 'File not found'. Then please use the download option (the file is
there!) or update to a higher version of the Real Player as you should
have those problems more often.
3) option 'Listen to ...': It can happen Netscape (or the Internet-Explorer) does not start the RealAudio Player but offers to save the file to disk instead. Then you should save the file to disk with the extension "*.ra", "*.rm" or "*.ram" and start it from your Windows-Explorer. Another possibility is: Check on Options/Preferences of your browser, change file handling for those extensions from save to disk to open with RealAudio Player. 4) MP3: your browser
has downloaded the file and started an application. You receive the error
message: 'file format not supported'. Then the browser usually has started
the windows internal media-player which does not support mp3. Then you
will have to change your browsers preferences: Go -edit-
-preferences-, search for (-Navigator-) -applications-
and search the entry for -mpeg audio- or similar with the file -extension
mp3- (usually mime type -audio x-mpeg-). Change -handled
by application- and select your mp3-player (for example the WinAmp).
You don't have a mp3-player? Click on help.
z) Any problems that
are different? This service will only be improved by your help. Tell the
problem and best give information on RealAudio version, browser version
and operating system. mail here
